Harnessing Inner Power: How Self Practice Supports Strength and Renewal

This was written from the heart, a moment of inspiration from one of those days when life seems like a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences.

Today was the first practice after 3 days rest.
Today I felt stiff, and a little run down.
Today I had to reprimand my daughter for doing something I’d asked her not to.
Today she pointed out how strong my cheek lines were, likening me to a cheetah.
Today I forgot to make her lunch, so threw together a sandwich before rushing out the door.
Today I noticed everyone’s black bins lined up for collection, where mine was not.
Today I considered going home to deal with my bin responsibility and nurse my parenting wounds.
Today I thought maybe I should practise at home.
Today I took the 40 min drive to Self practice.
Today I arrived and sat bathed in sun while I breathed my focus 12.
Today I breathed and moved and let go of how difficult I find Kapotasana.
Today my pincha was light and stable.
Today I received 2 new poses.
Today I absorbed the energy of a beautiful group of ashtangis.
Today I released some stagnant energy and felt renewed.
Today I drove home with a big smile, accentuating my facial lines.
Today, I feel strong like a big cat.
Today I don’t care if I look like one!

This day served as a powerful reminder that, in the journey of life, we encounter both challenges and triumphs. Despite the chaos and self-doubt that can consume us, there is always a way to tap into our inner strength and find renewal. Through the practice of yoga, I not only accessed my inner resilience but also absorbed the positive energy radiating from those around me.

Today became a day of transformation—an affirmation of the beauty that lies within and the power we all possess to navigate through the highs and lows of life.

As we continue along this path, let us remember that each day offers an opportunity to discover our strength, embrace renewal, and connect to the inherent beauty that resides within us.
