Redefining Ashtanga – Ashtanga Energetics

Dorchester Yoga Centre, Saturday 26 April 10.30am- 12.30pm

Redefining Ashtanga – Ashtanga Energetics Ashtanga is often misunderstood. It’s not just a physically demanding sequence—it’s a moving meditation, a play of breath, bandha, and drishti. When we focus solely on the external postures, we lose touch with the deeper energetics that transform this practice into something truly integrated. This is Ashtanga, John Scott style—rooted in the Tristana method: breath, movement, and focus as one unified experience. Yes, we will full vinyasa between postures. Yes, the whole practice will take 2 hours.
Yes, modifications and props are welcome—this is about awareness, not rigidity. We move. We don’t get attached to the pose.
We breathe. We are present in each transition.
We trust. We listen beyond the physical. What to Expect 🔹 Teaching from lived experience – I share what I’ve embodied through years of exploration.
🔹 A space for discovery – You don’t have to be perfect. This is about refining through experience, repetition, and attunement to energetics.
🔹 Allowing, not forcing – Ashtanga is not about imposing shapes; it’s about letting the pose emerge naturally.
🔹 Depth through repetition – Repetition isn’t just routine—it’s where true depth unfolds. Through consistent, mindful movement, we refine skill and unlock new layers of awareness.
🔹 A shared energetic space – We listen deeply, lead from within, and move as part of something greater. Join Me This is not about how “advanced” you are—it’s about how present you’re willing to be.
